The Kingdom of God and New Wine Skins

20. May 2013 05:00 by don | 2 Comments

A new wineskin is required to hold the revelation of the kingdom.

When Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom two millennia ago, many religious people had a hard time receiving it. The message He preached didn’t fit their system of theology. Jesus warned them not to try to fit the new revelation into an old system.

Luke 5:36-39: Then He spoke a parable to them: “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. And no one having drunk old wine immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’”

The revelation of the kingdom cannot be patched into the old garment; nor can it be contained in old containers. Receiving the gospel of the kingdom makes all things new, more alive, more real and very satisfying to the soul.

What one thing could Jesus do that  would  cause Rome and the Jews desire Jesus death?  Could it be he healed people?  Could it be he loved all people?  Could it be he raised the dead?  Or could it be because He claimed to be King?   This was the most threatening issue to the Jews because He was not the King they were looking forward to.  And Rome was not about to have another King.   Just a thought.

We traveled to the bush and God blessed us to see over 40 professions of faith.  God has been giving us favor with some political leaders who may be able to help us with Total Tribal Transformation.   We are praying for fruitful outreaches this month.  Pray for us to be highly favored of the Lord.

Kingdom of God

" and Jesus sent them to proclaim  the Kingdom of God...' Luke 9:2    If Jesus sent the disciples to preach the Kingdom of God, has He changed his agenda. In Luke 4 Jesus said He was sent to preach the Kingdom of God.   All through the New Testament we see the preaching of the Kingdom of God.  What is this message that was so important to Jesus.  He will not return until the Kingdom of God is preached to every nation.  What do you think?

Kingdom of God

in Acts 1:3 the Bible says, 'He presented Himself alive to them after His suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the Kingdom of God'.  If it was so important for Jesus to review all He taught the disciples concerning His Kingdom, shouldn't it be important for us to review with His disciples.  I do not believe we have rejected the Kingdom of God in our preaching but we have reduced it.  Jesus said He will not return until the Kingdom has been preached to all nations.  Come on, let's get our job done.
