The failing of Evangelism

3. November 2013 15:06 by don | 1 Comments

I have had a huge burden for evangelism for over 38 years.  The USA has fallen prey to demonic attack against evangelism.  Sadly his scheme has worked.  Politics is not the answer for our great country.  Winning the lost is our answer.

Ninety-five percent of all Christians have never won a soul to Christ.
Eighty percent of all Christians do not consistently witness for Christ.
Less than two percent are involved in the ministry of evangelism.
Seventy-one percent do not give toward the financing of the great Commission.

One particular denomination did a survey on its leadership ministries. The results are as follows:

  • 63% of the leadership in this denomination, including deacons and elders, have not led one stranger to Jesus in the last two years through the method of “Go Ye” evangelism.
  • 49% of the leadership ministries spend zero time in an average week ministering outside of the church.
  • 89% of the leadership ministries have zero time reserved on their list of weekly priorities for going out to evangelize.
  • 99% of the leadership ministries believe that every Christian, including leadership, has been commanded to preach the gospel to a lost world.
  • 97% believe that if the leadership had a greater conviction and involvement in evangelism, that it would be an example for the church to follow.
  • 96% of the leadership believe their churches would have grown faster if they would have been more involved in evangelism.

All Out Evangelism

1 Corinthians 9:19: “For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; 20 and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; 22 to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 Now this I do for the gospel's sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.”

Tiger Woods, Shaq, Steve Jobs and others gave it all they had to what they did.  What have you given your all to.  Paul gave his all to winning all people to Jesus.  HE WENT ALL OUT!  Have you gone all out to win souls?  Today we give our all to our jobs, family, churches,  wealth and other temporal things.  Let's go all out for eternal things. People are choosing everyday heaven and hell.  We MUST present the Good News of God's Kingdom to everyone.  Why don't we go ALL OUT for the things of God?  I like the words Paul used inspired by the Holy Spirit, 'that I might by ALL MEANS WIN SOME'.  Oh, that we could say, 'that I by all means may win some'.  This is all out evangelism.  Let's choose to go all out.  Amen?

HANNAH cried out to God to not let her go childless.  (1 Samuel 1:5).  Oh that the church would cry out to God to open our spiritual wombs that we be not childless.  God answered her prayer and will answer our when we pray in anguish like Hannah.  Let us cry out to God, that we to may have spiritual children.  Let the lack of evangelism break our hearts.  please post your comments!

In 2 Timothy 4:5 The apostle Paul was writing his spiritual son in the faith, who was a pastor of a church.  He wrote, 'do the work of an evangelist'.  I have two questions I would like you to think about and then answer in my blog.

1.  Why would Paul tell Timothy to 'do the work of an evangelist'.

2.  What do you suppose was Paul's purpose in telling Paul this.
