Thank You for helping us reach the Maasai Tribe of East Africa

25. November 2015 08:43 by don | 0 Comments

This trip we have been working on getting our new truck equipped for the bush.  We have moved to another apartment for security purposes, built a new church for the Liabons (witch doctors) who have been saved and now have a pastor.  We have drilled a water well which we are still struggling with, won many to Jesus, taught a lot of discipleship, traveled a lot of miles off road, given aways bibles both written and on the memory cards for their cell phones, and a lot more.  Please pray about helping us a little financially during this Christmas season.  This trip was EXTREMELY costly.

Kingdom

5. November 2015 08:52 by don | 0 Comments

As I work with the Maasai Tribe of East Africa, I have learned the power of a culture.  For the Maasai their culture dictates how they live and how they think.  They have been taught for generations how to think and live by the Maasai culture.  In the USA, we have been influenced greatly by our culture. How we think and live comes from our cultural upbringing.  Our language, thinking processes, dress, entertainment, financial planning, church and every area of our life is formed by our culture.

This is the purpose Jesus wants us to seek His Kingdom culture first.  If we do not go after His ways of doing life, we will automatically default to our own culture.  Though I have a Maasai name, wear Maasai clothing, can speak some of the Maasai language, and am a part of their culture, I still am not a Maasai.  I can learn all about Maasai, even act like a Maasai, but that does not make me a Maasai.

The only real way for me to become a Maasai is to be born another time.  Or to be born again, but the second time to be born a Maasai.  Then by default I would think, talk, act, dress and be a true Maasai.

We also must receive a second birth to get the DNA of the Kingdom of God.  It is impossible for us to be Kingdom of God people, living out the Kingdom lifestyle without being born into that Kingdom.

It is then that the process of God renewing our minds (Romans 12:2) can take place.  We must seek first His Kingdom if we are to have our minds renewed to live and walk in the new way of life.  Being born again is just the start.  If you have never done this, please send me an email at donbabin@gmail.com, so i can send you some information to help you enter into the Kingdom that can never be shaken.

Every Kingdom will be shaken......

2. October 2015 08:27 by don | 0 Comments

Jesus did not come to make you a better king.  Jesus did not come so you could incorporate Him into your kingdom.  He already knows you will not make a good king and your kingdom will eventually be shaken.  Jesus came to be your king, he came to take over your kingdom and establish His kingdom.

The writer of Hebrews said,  Heb. 12 '25 See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? 26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”[e] 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

We need to receive His unshakable kingdom,  because other kingdoms, except His will be shaken.

Hebrews 12: 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”

As you watch the world news you can see that the kingdoms of this world are being shaken.  Personal kingdoms are being shaken.  NO other kingdom will stand except His unshakable kingdom.

Jesus wants to be your King.  He desires for you to do things the kingdom way.  As you seek to do things His way you are seeking the Kingdom of God.  Jesus said, if we would seek first His kingdom, all these things will be added to us.  Do you believe Him.  Allow Jesus to take over your kingdom today and become your new King.  The results are absolutely amazing.

Coming into the Kingdom

22. May 2015 10:28 by don | 0 Comments

What draws a person into the Kingdom.  When I got saved I wanted what I saw in the Kingdom.  I did not know a lot about Jesus but what I saw in people who lived in the Kingdom drew me to the Kingdom.  I saw great joy in the person who told me about Jesus.  I wanted that joy, I wanted the peace, the freedom, the blessings of the Kingdom.

When people risk their lives to come to America, sell all they have,  leave their families, what causes them to do that?  Do they do that because they want to be under the president.  Did the president of the USA draw them?  Or was it the freedom, prosperity, opportunity they saw in people who are citizens of the USA.

Coming into the Kingdom of God is much like this.  People see the fruit of the Spirit,  (Kingdom), they see the joy, peace, opportunity, and love.  This is what draws people into the Kingdom of God.  HOWEVER,  once you see the fruit of the Kingdom of God, and you desire it's blessings, you must get in though Jesus Christ.  He is the DOOR, He is the WAY.  There is no other way into the Kingdom but through Him.  I  am not in any way saying Jesus is not important.  Jesus is the only way into the Kingdom, He is our life, He is our all in all.  But people are drawn to the Kingdom by the same things that draw people into the USA.  I wonder why people are not risking all to come into God's Kingdom like they are risking their all to come into the USA.   Perhaps we are not showing the attractions of the Kingdom, maybe we are not showing by our lives the joy, peace, the love, the blessings, the forgiveness of the Kingdom.

Jesus said, ' let your light shine...'.  Perhaps the light of citizenship in the USA shines brighter than citizenship in the Kingdom of God.  JUST A THOUGHT.

Parable of the sower

14. May 2015 11:22 by don | 0 Comments

Why in the parable of the sower does the devil want to destroy the seed so badly.  Because in the seed is the secrets of the Kingdom of God.  These secrets are revealed to those who desire to know those secrets.  Of course satan does not want believers to discover those secrets.  The secrets of the Kingdom not only liberate but they also empower us for Kingdom work.  The devil is smart enough to know the value of the Kingdom message and will anything to destroy that message of Jesus.

Matthew 13: 10 And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”11 He answered and said to them, “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

18 “Therefore hear the parable of the sower: 19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart.

We the church, must value to message of Jesus concerning the Kingdom of God as much and more as satan wants to destroy this particular message.  I do not believe we have refused or rejected the message of the Kingdom but we have REDUCED it.  To discover the kingdom is like a person who discovered a treasure in a field and sold all he had to purchase that field.  This is another parable Jesus told about the Kingdom of God.  Matthew 13:44 (the same chapter as the parable of the sower).

More on the Kingdom of God

7. April 2015 07:02 by don | 0 Comments

More on the Kingdom of God…..

The New Testament mentions the Kingdom of God 104 times.  Ninety one of those times if comes off the lips of Jesus.   Jesus even told us, ‘Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks…’.  (Lk 6:45).   I know what filled the heart of Jesus, the Kingdom of God.   If the Kingdom filled Jesus heart, then it should also fill our hearts.

‘As you go, proclaim this message: 'The kingdom of heaven has come near.’  (MT 10:7).  Here Jesus tells His disciples what to preach.  It is amazing to me that Jesus does not give His disciples a choice of what to preach.  He tells them to preach the Kingdom of God.   I am sure He has not changed His mind on what His disciples should be preaching today.

In Acts chapter 1: 2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

3 To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Whatever this Kingdom message implies it was definitely important to Jesus.  His message from the beginning of His ministry was ‘repent the Kingdom of God is upon us’.   Let’s share the message of the Kingdom.  Kingdom identity, kingdom finances, kingdom marriages, kingdom child rearing, kingdom church, kingdom worship, kingdom evangelism……..

Thy Kingdom come and thy will be done on earth just like it is in heaven…..

Thoughts on the importance of the Kingdom of God

19. March 2015 22:01 by don | 0 Comments

For years now I have buried myself in the study of the Kingdom of God.  This has been the greatest study of my life.  I would highly recommend this study for every preacher or serious student of the Bible.  It is the one thing Jesus told His disciples to preach on.  He did not give us a choice on what to preach but said in Luke 9:2 'and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick...'    It seems to me that obedience would mean we 'preach the Kingdom of God'.   There is something about preaching the Kingdom that releases a certain atmosphere that brings heaven to earth.  We were told by Jesus to preach the kingdom and pray that His Kingdom would come to earth just like it is in heaven.   I am certain He meant that!   He even said he will not return until the Kingdom is preached in every nation.   The return of Jesus is dependent on our obedience to preaching the Kingdom.   For one last thought,   if we want our friends, disciples or whatever to have something to stand on in difficult times we must preach the Kingdom of God, because the Word tells us every kingdom that can be shaken will be shaken, (this is not a guess but absolute), and the only place to life without being shaken is in the unshakeable Kingdom.   PREACH THE KINGDOM.   Please comment and let me know what your thoughts are on the this subject.

New Wineskins of the Kingdom

22. January 2015 23:22 by don | 0 Comments

When Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom two millennia ago, many religious people had a hard time receiving it. The message He preached didn’t fit their system of theology. Jesus warned them not to try to fit the new revelation into an old system.

Luke 5:36-39: Then He spoke a parable to them: “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. And no one having drunk old wine immediately desires new; for he says, ‘The old is better.’”

The revelation of the kingdom cannot be patched into the old garment; nor can it be contained in old containers. Receiving the gospel of the kingdom makes all things new, more alive, more real and very satisfying to the soul.

Our Father....

2. December 2014 12:15 by don | 0 Comments

The disciples ask Jesus to teach them to pray.   Jesus said, ' pray like this, 'Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be thy name, Thy Kingdom come......'.   Wow,  did you catch that.  Our Father.....Thy Kingdom'.  Our Father is the King.  You are royalty.  You have the blood of the King of all Kings in your veins.  You have the DNA of the King.  Your 'daddy'  is the King.  When you make a request you are not just anyone in the Kingdom you are a son and a daughter.  That is why you can boldly approach your daddy's thrown.   You live with favor of the King because of who you are.  God help us all to have a revelation of our daddy God as King.

The Kingdom of God is here!

23. October 2014 14:20 by don | 0 Comments

The Old Testament ends on a note of expectation —the return of Elijah the prophet who would soften the hearts of the people to obey the Law of Moses in conformity with Israel’s calling as God’s holy nation (Mal. 4:4-6). However, four hundred long years pass before Israel hears any word from God. During this time, the Persians, the Greeks and the Romans all ruled over Israel in Palestine. The apocryphal books were written and the apocalyptic prophets preached. But no authentic prophet arose to bring a good word from God.

Finally, the deafening silence was shattered by the strong voice of John the Baptist — the promised forerunner of Messiah who was also the new Elijah (Matt. 3:3; 11:14; Mark 1:2-3; 9:13; Luke 3:4-6). John the [Southern?] Baptist made this startling, but exciting announcement: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matt. 3:2)!

At long last, God was at work again! He was about to do something new! Indeed He was! What He was about to do was to fulfill the redemptive hope of the Old Testament through the inauguration of the Kingdom of Godin the person of His own virgin-born Son, Jesus Christ. The time had finally come. The offspring of the woman who would bring redemption to the earth was at hand. The covenants of promise were about to be fulfilled. God’s redeeming rule was about to break into the world! This is what the story of Jesus and the New Testament is all about! At the heart of this story is the concept of the Kingdom of God.
